Awards & Scholarships

Wildcat Pride Night

Wildcat Pride Night started in 2011. In an effort to formally recognize and honor our student-athletes at the conclusion of their senior year, Wildcat Pride Night has quickly become an anticipated event where the senior student-athletes, their families and coaches come together to celebrate their dedication to Weston Athletics. Awards are given to each student-athlete who participated in a sport during their senior year. In addition to each senior student-athlete being recognized, the following prestigious athletic awards are given:

David A. Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund
The David A. Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honor of David Perry, Weston High School Class of 1920, who was subsequently a member of the School Committee and was instrumental in improving the athletic facilities and staff in Weston and in establishing the Boosters.  The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships or other aid for the further education of Weston residents.  Scholarships are typically provided to one or more high school seniors each year.

Theodore Chandler Memorial Award
The Theodore Chandler Memorial Award is presented annually by the Weston Boosters to the senior boy and girl who best exemplify the 3 qualities of athletic accomplishment, scholarship, and school spirit. This award is voted on by our students, teachers and coaches and is considered one of our most prestigious awards. The athletes who win this award have exhibited tremendous athletic fortitude, excelled in the classroom and have been leaders for teams. Each winner’s name is affixed on the Chandler Plaques located on the wall by the HS gym.

John S. Proctor Award
The John S. Proctor Award is given in his memory for athletic achievement, leadership and sportsmanship. John Proctor was a teacher, coach, athletic director and above all a friend to Weston students for 34 years. When John Proctor arrived in Weston in 1934, there were 3 sports offered at the High School. Today we offer 28 at the High School and 12 at the Middle School. He was instrumental in building this well-rounded Athletic Program.
